Yvonne Okoro’s gets six nominations for ‘The Contract’ at the 2013 AMAA Awards

First time behind the camera as a producer, Yvonne Okoro’s first, self-produced movie “The Contract”, directed by Shirley Frimpong-Manso, was shortlisted in six nominations for the African Movie Academy Awards(AMAA). Like this was not enough for the night, the talented actress crowned the evening by being nominated as Best Actress in a leading role. The nominations party was held in Malawi on Friday night.

The AMAA was designed to celebrate and honour filmmakers and other professionals in the industry across Africa and in the Diaspora, the AMAA has come to be known as Africa’s most prestigious motion picture award ceremony.

This year’s finals will be held in the Nigerian state of Bayelsa.
