Francophone filmmakers take the lead at the AMAA 2013 nominations

It has been a tradition to have a dominant country since 2005 when the first edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) was held, but it is predicted that this year these countries will forfeits its lead to another film making country. This may well be the turn of French-speaking film making countries to dominate as they lead the pack of films submitted from across Africa and the Diaspora. Surprisingly this for the first time this year the number of films submitted was totalling 671 films, approximately 50% up against the previous editions. Definitely showing the African film industry is growing and being watched across the globe.

This Nollywood Actress has scored her place in her hearts with her outstanding performances in many movies. But that does not end there, because the sensational beauty is also a UN Ambassador. This actress evidently demonstrated her heart of gold on the 27th of May 2012 by hosting over 3000kids on Children's Day: at agodo lagos and crowned the event by handing them school supplies: customised school bag containing mathematical set, lunch box and customised school books. I am sure the actress has even bigger plans for this year's event. Contact with reps has not yet been confirmed. Watch last year's video of the event and more charity pictures after the cut....
