All Islamic schools in Senegal are to close down

Young students, about aged seven to 12, have been killed in a fire in the Medina neighborhood of Senegal's capital, Dakar, prompting the Senegalese President to visit the scene. After his visit, he announced the government will close all Islamic schools that do not meet basic safety standards. Officials said nine children in a Quranic school died in a fire Sunday.

French nun killed in Madagascar


As per police report in Madagascar, two protesters have been killed in a riot at a prison holding the alleged killers of a French nun. The unrest happened when an angry crowd converged on the prison in the northern town of Mandritsara demanding justice for the death Sister Marie Emmanuelle Helesbeux.

Nominees are drawn from all productions in Cameroon, and in the diaspora. The CMA will ultimately become a rotational annual awards, and at some point we may even move from one continent to the other. In other words we may host one in the UK or US at some point."
