Eko Atlantic first Inauguration tomorow....Lagos soaked in extra traffic

The city of lagos is expected to get seriously buzy tomorow as several Govermental and other related dignitaries will be present for the opening of the highly anticipated Eko Atlantic City Phase 1 inauguration. Eko Atlantic or Eko Atlantic City is a planned district of Lagos, Nigeria, which was constructed on land reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean. It is located on Lagos’ Bar Beach.

This new island was anticipated to sustain 400,000 residents and a daily flow of 250,000 commuters. The development is also meant to have a positive environmental impact; its purpose is to stop the erosion of the Lagos coastline.

Eko Atlantic already called the gateway to Africa; will change the face of Africa and will help Lagos State transform itself into mega city-status on the world map. This state will provide space for the 25 million people expected to live and work in the region by the year 2015. Eko Atlantic is a creative and ambitious development and is rapidly becoming a source of great national pride in Nigeria.

The Eko Atlantic City project received global recognition in 2009, as the Lagos State government and its private sector partners on the Project, South Energyx, got the Clinton Global lnitiative Commitment Certificate.

Eko Atlantic will grow into a vibrant, twenty-first century city, larger than Victoria Island, and will help to establish Lagos as the financial capital of Africa.
