Uganda anti-homosexual bill was challenged by activists in court

What is our Africa turning into my Facebook Family? Can you believe Uganda anti-homosexual bill was challenged by activists in court? arguing that the bill signed by the Ugandan President last month is unconstitutional because it discriminates against sexual orientation.

Since when did Africans know about about DISCRIMINATION Acts? If at all they want to apply Discriminatory acts, there are better areas to do so such as gender, age, marital status, disability and race. Not sexuality which inturns validates ( homosexuality) for God sake...!!! Let such continue to stay in the dark even if it exist, but please let constitutional Laws out of it..! am I right ?..!

What is our next generation going to be like if this whole "discrimination" thing take effect especially in such areas. Africans are used to certain thing being abomination and so I think it should stay. What is you opinion on this please.

Brenda Shey Elung : Cameroon's most powerful woman in the movie industry was at the AMVCA 2014

I love when women respect not only their age, but their body as well. In this picture, the most powerful woman in the Cameroon Film industry does just that. Yes, Brenda Shey Elung looks great and she stayed true to her self…fresh and sophisticated; not like she's going to a beauty pageant. It's a refreshing change. Reminding us that you can still be sexy without showing too much skin and that white dresses are still having their day in the sun. With only minimal jewelry, a glossy nude lip and a skin sleek foundation finished out the straightforward yet effective statement. Brenda, well done and thumpsup for empowering women

Nigerians shareholders of Ecobank are calling for the resignation of the current Director General of Ecobank Group , the Ivorian Thierry Tanoh. As a result of this, the Extraordinary General assembly of the Ecobank group resumed here Monday after being suspended for more than two hours by these same shareholders. So what is he accused of?

The investigation by the SEC and whose conclusions are available since January, reported several failures in the management of the bank, particularly on Board of Directors which is accused of lacking a clear vision.

Issues bothering on faulty governance, the way decisions are taken by the Board of Directors and the lack of independence were also discussed.

So how could this affect the bank's ranking in Africa?
'Ecobank Transnational Incorporated will come out of this stronger,' said the official, adding that reforms will help enhance the efficiency of the banking group, still ranked first in Africa.
Commenting on the bank's ranking in Africa, CEO Tanoh said 'This award confirms that the banking group remains a landmark for African businesses and individuals.'

According to en.africatime.com report lately, an official of the Bank, spoke about this turbulent condition and requested anonymity. This official told PANA that 'the Nigerians are orchestrating a move to divert public attention from debate and implementation of audit results at KPMG cabinet that was commissioned by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and hardly cleared all the former members of management board, including the former President of the Governing Council, Kolapo Lawson and his Nigerian compatriot, the former CEO, Arnold Ekpe.

However, reforms, including top appointments to the board, will depend on the vote of the heavyweight shareholders, among which are the Public Investment Corporation (the Pension Fund South African officials), which holds 20% stake in the group, the fourth largest bank in South Africa, Nedbank, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank group.

After so many speculations on the health status of president Alassane Ouattara since admitted to a France based hospital, his returned home was well appreciated with warm welcome by many supporters.

Supporters  flooded the streets of Ivory Coast's commercial capital, Abidjan, Sunday to welcome back President Alassane Ouattara after a month of medical treatment in France.

Although he walked across the airport tarmac with the help of a cane, he otherwise showed little sign of his recent illness.

The atmosphere was very welcoming as thousands of supporters, beating drums or holding signs of welcome, linedup long route from the airport to the president's residence.

Since claiming power, Ouattara is admired by his international partners for fostering an economic renaissance in French-speaking West Africa's largest economy.
