welcome back President Alassane Ouattara after a month of medical treatment in France

After so many speculations on the health status of president Alassane Ouattara since admitted to a France based hospital, his returned home was well appreciated with warm welcome by many supporters.

Supporters  flooded the streets of Ivory Coast's commercial capital, Abidjan, Sunday to welcome back President Alassane Ouattara after a month of medical treatment in France.

Although he walked across the airport tarmac with the help of a cane, he otherwise showed little sign of his recent illness.

Ouattara, who came to power in 2011, underwent a successful operation to alleviate pain caused by sciatica.

The atmosphere was very welcoming as thousands of supporters, beating drums or holding signs of welcome, linedup long route from the airport to the president's residence.

Since claiming power, Ouattara is admired by his international partners for fostering an economic renaissance in French-speaking West Africa's largest economy.

Welcome back President Alassane Ouattara...but if your physical competence is put to question by your health, I suggest you step down in peace as the president of Ivory Coast.
