According to LCI news yesterday afternoon, the king of Congolese rumba:Papa Wemba died of a heart attack. He collapsed on stage during his concert at the Urban Music festival in Abidjan Cote D' Ivore. His death was actually pronounced yesterday late afternoon. He was 66 years old. RIP

ACCESS TO MORDEN FORM OF CONCEPTION STILL A HUGE CHALLENGE IN CAMEROON

Despite modern innovation, numerous international funding and aids in making contraception  widely available and free of charge in Cameroon, it is catastrophically astonishing that approximately 63 percent of sexually active Cameroonian women who want to avoid pregnancy do not have access to a modern form of contraception, according to a recently report by the Guttmacher Institute and the French Institut de Formation et de Recherche Démographiques (IFORD).

Effective, Around 6,000 Cameroonian women die each year from complications of pregnancy and childbirth. A tragic figure, representing the reality of living in a country with one of the highest maternal mortality ratios in the world, with 782 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births. But, according to the report, “Benefits of Meeting the Contraceptive Needs of Cameroonian Women,” nearly 30 percent of these women did not want to become pregnant in the first place.

Women cite several reasons for not using contraception, including the lack of adequately trained health care providers, frequent unavailability of contraceptive supplies, and limited choice of methods. As a result, they are at risk for unintended or mistimed pregnancies. The poorest women are especially at risk, with 90 percent of them at risk of an unwanted pregnancy. On average, the poorest women in Cameroon have two more children than they report wanting. These women are also the least likely to have access to quality obstetric care.

About 36 percent of unintended pregnancies in Cameroon end in abortion, but restrictions on the procedure force women to resort to clandestine, potentially lethal methods of abortion. However, according to the report, if the need for contraceptives for all women were met, there would be a 75 percent decrease in unplanned births, abortions and miscarriages. The lives of 1,300 women who die in pregnancy and childbirth would be saved each year, and there would be 13,000 fewer infant deaths annually. Additionally, each dollar spent on contraceptive services would save the Cameroon health system $1.23 on maternal and newborn care.

FEMINISM should it be embedded in our Cameroon society?

I have realized many Cameroonians, particularly young illiterates [and literates] have never come across that word. Each time I mention the word to people I am not familiar with, their actions make me understand that they are either hearing the word for the first time or have heard it in passing and have not stored it in their minds because it does not have any meaning to them.

When they are told about the basics of feminism, they waste no time to criticize the feminist ideology of women and men being equal undergrounds – that it is against the will of God. We must acknowledge the fact that our society is a little bit behind in terms of knowledge and understanding of feminism, women's rights and human rights.

Most men will agree women are important, but will argue they are important for "the purpose of men".

Men feel like women already have what they need to have; most of them go to school, work and earn some money to support their families. However, some men feel like women do not deserve to achieve anything that will instill in them a feeling of fulfillment and importance because they believe women will not dance to their tune. Other men neglect or do not understand the aspect of psychological oppression and its impact.

Now let's ask ourselves this question: "Is the problem of female marginalization a thing of the body or the mind?"

It is through this question that we will successfully trace the problem, address it, change minds and social attitudes. It is through this question that we will know how to go about telling men feminism is important and be able to explain how important it is to empower women.

Our people should be informed about the benefits of women taking part in decision-making, choosing what they are good at and be allowed the opportunity to do it, etc.

After serious rainfall yesterday, VIP passengers and airport pesonels discovered the roofing in the VIP lounge was seriously  leaking in many areas. Chaiiiiiiooòooooo Cameroon hmmmmm.!!!!  Quality control is certainly not in our dictionary eh huh. And to say the transport minister was there few days ago to carry on the innoguration. Heh heh...

New Cameroon Ambassador for France. What a surprise for Sumuel Mvondo Ayolo who was Cameroon Ambassador for Gabon.  He certainly wasn't expecting to be skydived to Paris as a result of the new presidential decree out this week Monday.

Alpha Blondy attacked by another musician François Kency on political issues

Alpha Blondy recently wrote a letter to the President Alassane Ouattara strongly pleading for the release of all political prisoners including Laurent Gbagbo. However another musician is bringing back old skeleton from the past proving that Alpha Blondy accusations at the time partly contributed and justified the ex president's sentensing and déportation; this other musician is called François Kency . In a statement published on social networks , the artist in exile since the post-election crisis responded by severely attacking his big brother. According to him, the mega star has also contributed to the deportation of former Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo. Full statement in French:

Rape Scandal in Beryla school at Rond Point Damas

Ecole Beryla at Maeture, Rond Point Damas is faced with rape scandal this afternoon. 

A teacher of the Anglophone section was caught today raping a small girl in school, and rumours says this is not the first, he has raped about eight girls previously who reported the issue to the school management;  but the reports were not taken seriously as there was little evidence leading to him; however, an investigation was lunched.  

The rapist  who goes by the name  is Sone, is presently at Efoulan Police station and is said to be HIS positive. 

BREAKING SAD NEWS: premature baby dies in Hope Parma hospital due to electricity power cut in Kumba

Dear friends, BREAKING SAD NEWS!!!!!!! in Kumba Cameroon: Bush faller's premature baby dies in Hope Parma hospital due to electricity power cut in Kumba on the 10/04/2016. So what really happened?!!  A girl comes back from Germany urgently to attend the burial ceremony of a death parent. On the 4th of April after contractions begins she is taken to this Hope Parma hospital were she gives birth to a premature baby of a masculine sex. After four days at the hospital she now has to attend this burial ceremony, of course she knows her baby is in good hands and off she goes in full confidence. However when the baby's father comes to the hospital in the early hours of the 10th, he discovers the baby is dead.  Oooop! How do you react to that? ??? Of course he does what anyone will do: physical aggression towards personels,   destruction of equipment. This as a result call the attention of the entire neighborhood, and police intervention. God Cameroon please let all wear  black tomorrow in support of miss Kah Walla Campaign because this really getting too much Cameroon. 

According to the doctor on duty's statement at the police station,  the baby died at 4:30th mean while the electricity power cut was at 8 am same day. The state council ordered he is arrested and jailed until the real cause of death is investigated. However he was charged with involuntary Humberside by negligence. But was bail after spending less than 24 hrs in jail; on wait for next court date.

An orthopsy was also ordered immediately to define the exact cause of death and determine if the theory of electricity occurrence was a contributing factor.

100 million FCFA to be paid for the damage and 10 million as deposit.
