There is no doubt this year’s celebration will is unique of kind and of necessity, will be more limited because of the current pandemic crisis and the necessary precautions of travel and social isolation restrictions. However, it is important to note that, maintaining our cultural roots begins with the nuclear of our family and local community. I therefore hope that African descent all over the world will have the opportunity to engage with their family, friends and community in a safe and joyful manner. Africa Day is a day for all of us to celebrate and recognise the cultural and other contributions that people of African bring not only in Africa itself but to the world in general 🙏
